ABOUT
Poni claims to still “have no idea what [she’s] doing” but continues to be curious and eager to explore her sound and carve out a place for herself in the ever-evolving electronic music community. Combining heavy bass elements, a sense of darkness and never quite enough distortion, she has no plans to stick to the confines of any one genre and strives to establish a unique sound for herself.
Born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Poni made the move to Denver, CO in 2021 where she currently thrives in the bass capital. At the beginning of 2024, she excitedly had her US visa application approved after a long and grueling journey and has since played numerous shows, festivals and iconic venues such as Beyond Wonderland at The Gorge, supported Rezz in Dallas at Silo, Bear Grillz at Webster Hall in NYC, Jessica Audiffred in at the Intersection in Grand Rapids, Sippy at Concord Music Hall in Chicago and Adventure Club at the Midway in San Francisco to name a few.
Notably - Poni was one of two winners in the inaugural Sable Valley remix contest in 2021, resulting in having an official release with the label and additionally has had releases on Monstercat, Space Yacht, Seeking Blue, Gud Vibrations, Welcome Records and Kannibalen. She was also featured in the March 2022 issue of DJ Mag NA as one of 6 artists to watch and was named one of Electric Hawk's artists to watch for 2024.
Having released numerous remixes for notable artists over the years, Poni turned her focus to writing original music and released her highly anticipated debut EP, POWERLESS, on PhaseOne’s label, Sounds of Mayhem, in February 2024, which received attention and praise by listeners and media alike. In December 2024, she made her debut on Rezz’s HypnoVizion label with a sophomore EP, Hellscape, and released her third EP ‘Darkest Hour’ with Welcome Records in October 2025, highlighting her ability and commitment to span multiple genres, proving you never quite know what you’re going to get next.
Poni continues to explore her ever evolving sound and has leaned heavily into the rocktronic space, often incorporating influence and elements of rock, metal, emo and punk. She's currently sitting on the most unreleased music she's ever had and can't wait to share what's next.
